Music legend Robbie Williams has sung a very special Spurs version of his hit single ‘Angels’ as a tribute to Australian Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou has had a dream start at the North London club, with Spurs currently unbeaten and sitting in third spot on the Premier League ladder.
The former Celtic manager has won over supporters with his attacking approach to games and dry sense of humour – and even Williams is a fan.
Spurs die-hards came up with the heart-warming tribute for Postecoglou by changing some of Williams’ lyrics to suit the football theme – and the former Take That frontman has given the reworked version his tick of approval by singing it.
Williams has posted a clip of himself to social media featuring him singing the 1997 hit single with the updated lyrics.

‘And through it all, we’re playing the way we want to.
‘Big Ange Postecoglou, whether I’m right or wrong.
‘You can keep your Pochettino, Conte and Mourinho, and even Christian Gross.
‘Cause everywhere we go, I’m loving Big Ange instead.’
Tottenham writer Charlie Eccleshare has compared Melbourne-raised Postecoglou to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who took over at the Emirates in 2019 and has since transformed the Gunners into genuine Premier League contenders.
‘Postecoglou is almost evangelical about the way he wants to play, he is uncompromising. Arteta, everyone assumed he was going to be a mini Pep (Guardiola),’ he said.
‘Ange has come in and basically said this is my system … and we are doing this straight away.

‘He also lost his striker (and captain) in Harry Kane … it has been an impressive start.’
Those words are just part of the high praise for the one-time Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory coach in the A-League, who went onto win silverware in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos and Celtic in Scotland in recent years.
Despite his ongoing success, the appointment by chairman Daniel Levy was initially ridiculed by some supporters, who felt ‘Aussie Ange’ wasn’t good enough to excel in the Premier League.
It is early days, but Postecoglou has made a habit of making his critics eat their words.
