Tottenham have four choices to replace Harry Kane as Bayern Munich star ‘not an option’ | Football | Sport

Tottenham may be forced to revise their list of transfer targets to replace Harry Kane if the England skipper leaves the club in the near future. Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich over the last few weeks, while Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with a desire to snap him up after putting Kylian Mbappe up for sale.

Tottenham will undoubtedly need to fill the void left by Kane’s departure if he is sold this summer, with Bayern forward Mathys Tel said to be among the names on Ange Postecoglou’s shortlist. However, it seems as though it could be tricky for Spurs to push through a move for the 18-year-old, with Bild reporting that he is ‘not an option’ for the north Londoners either on loan or permanently.

It had been suggested that Tel could be included in a swap deal that would have seen Kane go the other way, although such a move appears to be highly unlikely as things stand, which could see Tottenham forced to look elsewhere in their efforts to strengthen at the top of the pitch.

Express Sport takes a look at four potential options for Spurs, including whether or not their ideal solution could already be hiding in plain sight…

Richarlison

Richarlison only managed to score one goal in the Premier League throughout the previous campaign but has been flying in pre-season and bagged a hat-trick against Lion City Sailors in Singapore earlier this week. He will obviously need to excel against opponents of much higher quality if he is trusted to lead the line for Spurs next season, but it could prove to be a shrewd move if he manages to keep scoring regularly when league football resumes.

Dusan Vlahovic

Spurs could also decide to dip into the transfer market in order to replace Kane, with Dusan Vlahovic potentially able to shine in place of the England skipper when the new campaign gets underway. They could do far worse than to target a move for the Serbian striker, who has long been considered as one of the most exciting young forwards in Europe.

He was previously linked with a move to Arsenal, who were said to have been courting him for a while before he eventually signed for Juventus in early 2022. The 23-year-old went on to score 14 goals in all competitions for Juventus last season as a 15-point deduction saw the Italian giants consigned to a lower mid-table finish in Serie A.

Evan Ferguson

Evan Ferguson could also be a clever signing for Tottenham after his successful breakthrough campaign at Brighton last time around. He is still very much a developing talent at the age of 18 but looks a player beyond his years and could be seen as a natural heir to Kane if he makes the switch to north London this summer.

However, the Seagulls have demonstrated on plenty of occasions that they will not be bullied into selling their prized assets unless the money is right, which could see Tottenham forced to pay a pretty penny in order to land Ferguson this summer.

Jonathan David

A more proven target for Spurs could emerge in the form of Jonathan David, who has been banging in the goals for Lille over the last three seasons but has been denied a high-profile move elsewhere up to now. Tottenham are reported to be closely watching his situation as things stand, with Sportitalia claiming that he is one of several names under consideration at Hotspur Way.

It remains to be seen which direction Spurs will eventually go in to replace Kane if the latter ends up leaving the club over the next few weeks, although they will certainly have no shortage of options to pursue in the transfer market. There remains a chance that Kane could stay until his contract runs out next summer, but only time will tell if Daniel Levy will decide to cash in rather than lose the forward on a free transfer in a year’s time.
