Canalside Hackney Bridge plays host to the 2023 edition of the British Street Food Awards Friday to Sunday, August 18 to 20.
Hosted by Sophie Ellis Bextor and Andy Beynon and Tom Brown chefs from Hackney three Michelin-starred restaurants, Behind and Cornerstone, the competition aims to eke out the next best street food talent.
Following regional heats in which thousands of vendors competed in, 15 traders will cook up storm vying to win best street food dish.
Alongside the prize of Street Food Champion, this year’s awards will also crown the People’s Choice, Future Food Legend, Entrepreneur of the Year, Best Looking Award, Sustainability Award and Spice Award.
Punters can cast their vote on which dish they like the best, and feast on top nosh of the likes of Cajun chicken bowls from LJ Hugs, Iraqi fusion dishes from Amani Kitchen and pork and tiger prawn rolls from the Isle of Wight’s Smoking Lobster and beef cheek has browns from Hash Hut.
Previous winners include BAO, Wingmans and Meatliquor.
Tickets for e for Friday or Saturday evenings and Saturday or Sunday daytimes are £8 and includes a vote and a welcome drink.
