Bayern Munich arrive in London for Harry Kane negotiations with Tottenham – Paper Round

Bayern arrive for Kane negotiations

Bayern Munich officials have arrived in London to meet with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy to negotiate a potential deal to sign Harry Kane. The German champions have emerged as the front-runners to sign Kane this summer, but Spurs are desperate to keep hold of their talisman. Bayern have reportedly had two bids rejected for the 29-year-old, but manager Thomas Tuchel remains keen to bring Kane to Bavaria.

The Sun reports: “The German giants sent a delegation to meet Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy in a central London hotel in the hope of landing the England captain.

“Bayern, who had wanted to do a £60million deal, believe Kane wants a move to Germany, with only one year left on his deal.

“Manager Thomas Tuchel is a huge fan of Kane and tried to sign him two years ago when Chelsea boss.”

Spurs get inventive in attempt to keep Kane

Tottenham Hotspur have tabled a lucrative contract extension in an attempt to keep Kane at the club beyond his current deal. The England captain has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Spurs and has been linked with Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Tottenham have offered Kane the opportunity of a post-playing career in north London as part of the contract offer.

The Telegraph reveals: “It is understood that Kane went into his meeting with Postecoglou with an open mind and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has not given hope of eventually convincing the England captain to sign a new deal.

“Kane could earn as much as £400,000-a-week by signing a new Spurs contract, although the 29-year-old has shown no inclination to this summer as yet.

“As well as the financial reward, Spurs are thought to be willing to look at ways of keeping Kane at the club after his playing career finishes.”

Ten Hag pushes for Onana deal

Erik ten Hag is continuing to push for Manchester United to swiftly complete the signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan. The United boss previously worked with Onana at Ajax and has made the Cameroon stopper “one of his priorities” this summer following the exit of David De Gea. Ten Hag is hoping for the transfer to be completed before his squad travel to the United States next week for their pre-season tour.

The Star states: “United have still not agreed a fee with Inter Milan for the goalkeeper. Talks between both clubs are on-going, with United not willing to meet Inter’s £52m asking price.

“But United are aware the Italian outfit need funds to help them sign Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal – and believe a compromise of around £45m can be reached. United’s opening bid of £38m was rejected.

“Onana has told Inter he wants to join United – and agreeing personal terms with United will not be a problem.”

Inter up their Lukaku bid

Inter Milan are progressing in transfer negotiations with Chelsea as the Serie A side attempt to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the San Siro. The 30-year-old re-joined Chelsea from Inter back in 2021, but returned to Milan last season on loan after an unsuccessful season at Stamford Bridge. Inter are hoping to sign Lukaku on a permanent deal, but saw their opening bid rejected.

The Times confirms: “Inter Milan are a step closer to signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea on a permanent deal after submitting an improved offer of £25 million plus add-ons.

“Chelsea remain in talks with Juventus and Al Hilal, who have both made higher bids for Lukaku than Inter, but the 30-year-old’s preference is for a return to the San Siro.

“The west London club have been holding out for £40 million.”
