Armed police in ‘stand off’ on London street | UK | News

Armed police are reportedly involved in a ‘stand off’ in West London tonight (Thursday, July 13).

Residents report that multiple police units – including dogs, several vehicles and ‘eight or nine’ officers with guns – have been spotted in Swift Road and Bear Road in Hanworth. Officers with shields and what is thought to be a battering ram have also been seen at a property in the area, according to one eyewitness.

They said: “Armed police at [a] house, Swift Road, Oriel Estate, Hanworth. Eight or nine with guns, seven police cars and three police vans.

“Big stand off. The young [people] are standing on the garden walls in front of armed police. Police dogs have come now and they have the shields and big red key [battering ram].”

Another passerby said on Twitter: “Drove past this earlier, was 15+ cars and armed police! Anyone know what’s going on?”

Locals say that several people were arrested after armed police raided a house, reports MyLondon.
