AFC Wimbledon consider transfer window move for Sunderland keeper – South London News

AFC Wimbledon are weighing up a move for Sunderland goalkeeper Alex Bass, the South London Press understands.

The 25-year-old joined the Black Cats on a three-year deal in July 2022 after leaving Portsmouth.

However, he only made two senior appearances last season – both in cup competitions – with regular number one Anthony Patterson keeping Bass out of the side.

We reported earlier in the window that the Dons looked set for a reshuffle in the keeper department this summer.

Both Nathan Broome and Nik Tzanev played 45 minutes in Wimbledon’s 1-0 pre-season win over League One side Reading on Saturday.

Bass, 6ft 3in, has had loan spells at Salisbury, Torquay, Southend and Bradford during his career.
