The fire broke out just a short distance away from the Forest Gate Festival, a street party on Osborne Road bringing local businesses and families together.

A stall holder at the festival told the Independent that the fire was “shocking” and “sudden”.

She said: “A few of my neighbouring stall holders were worried it might affect the festival, but thankfully it hasn’t. Hoping no one was hurt.”
