A man has handcuffed himself to the gates of Buckingham Palace.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 5.20pm today after the man, believed to be in his 30s, also threatened to harm himself.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers are trying to speak to the man, “and bring the situation to a swift conclusion to ensure his safety and welfare.”
The London Ambulance Service is also at the scene.
