Leaked fuel can also be seen burning up on the road immediately in front of the limousine.

No one appeared to be in the vicinity of the car when another driver filmed it, with motorists steering to avoid it.

Four fire engines rushed to the scene at 5.57pm after the limo caught alight on a westbound exit slip road outside the Limehouse Link tunnel in east London.

Firefighters left the scene at 6.07pm after the fire prompted twenty 999 calls.

It is currently unclear what caused the furious fire outside the tunnel.

Motorists are now advised to avoid the area after the fire caused an ongoing traffic jam.

The London Fire Brigade said that the limousine caught fire on the westbound slip road from the Limehouse Link tunnel to nearby Butcher Row.

Fire engines were called from the LFB’s stations in Shadwell, Poplar, Millwall and Plaistow.

The British Transport Police has been contacted for comment.
