R’s welcome Tiger Cubs and para-footballers to W12

LAST month QPR in the Community Trust were delighted to open the doors to Loftus Road to both our Tiger Cubs and our para-football team.

Following the conclusion of the 2022/23 Sky Bet Championship campaign we welcomed numerous trust projects to grace the famous W12 turf, before pitch renovations ahead of the new season got underway.

The Cubs and para-footballers were invited down to have a unique training session in west London – capping off what has been a memorable 12 months for both of our sides.

Throughout the season our para-footballers have been busy competing in their Middlesex County Pan-Disability League, whilst our Tiger Cubs were of course part of the recent Tiger Feet Walk which raised over a staggering £15,000 – which will continue to fund the programme for the next year.

Speaking about the season as a whole, QPR Trust’s Inclusive Projects Officer Connor Bagenal told www.qpr.co.uk: “It was amazing to deliver a session on the pitch at Loftus Road.

“After a fantastic season for both our Tiger Cubs and Para-Footballers, it was a nice way to cap off the year.

“Days like this show just how special these two programmes are, as well as the impact they can have on not just the participants – but their families as well.

“Throughout the season the Tiger Cubs have been busy, initially with their involvement in the first-team photoshoot, before visiting London Zoo which coincided with our Christmas Party in W12 and more recently our annual Tiger Feet walk which raised so much vital money.”

Connor added: “Our para-footballers have also been busy battling it out in the Middlesex County Pan-Disability League and have done so well.

“A training session on the first-team pitch is well deserved after all their hard-work and a huge thank you to everyone involved and we will see you all next year.”
