London Tube closures December 30 to January 2

With the weekend upon us, it’s time to check what planned TfL closures are taking place from Friday to the Bank Holiday.

As with most weekends, some stations will be closed or partly closed for TfL to carry out essential work.

We’ve put a quick list together of all the work this weekend to ensure you don’t get caught out and can plan ahead.

To get the most up-to-date stats of the Underground, you can use the TfL app or website. 

Friday, December 30:

District Line: No service between Earls Court and Kensington Olympia, until Monday 2 January

Elizabeth Line: No service between Whitechapel and Shenfield. The limited Elizabeth line services between Liverpool Street National Rail station and Shenfield will also not operate.

London Overground: No service between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside.

Waterloo & City line: Service operates between 06:00 and 00:30, Monday – Friday. No service at weekends and on public and bank holidays.

New Year’s Eve Saturday, December 31:

District Line: No service between Earls Court and Kensington Olympia, until Monday 2 January

Elizabeth Line: No service between Whitechapel and Shenfield. The limited Elizabeth line services between Liverpool Street National Rail station and Shenfield will also not operate.

London Overground: Saturday 31 December, New Years Day 1, and Monday 2 January, no service between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction

Waterloo & City line: Service operates between 06:00 and 00:30, Monday – Friday. No service at weekends and on public and bank holidays. A service will operate from Wednesday 28 to Friday 30 December.

New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1:

District Line: No service between Earls Court and Kensington Olympia, until Monday 2 January.

Elizabeth Line: No service between Whitechapel and Shenfield. The limited Elizabeth line services between Liverpool Street National Rail station and Shenfield will also not operate.

London Overground: New Years’ Day 1, and Monday 2 January, no service between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction.

Metropolitan Line: New Year’s Day, 1 January, between 02:00 and 11:00, no service between Baker Street and Aldgate. Please use Circle and Hammersmith & City line trains.

Waterloo & City line: No service at weekends and on public and bank holidays. 

Bank Holiday, Monday, January 2:

District Line: Ho service between Earls Court and Kensington Olympia

Elizabeth line: No service between Whitechapel and Shenfield. The limited Elizabeth line services between Liverpool Street National Rail station and Shenfield will also not operate.

London Overground: No service between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction.

Waterloo & City line: No service at weekends and on public and bank holidays.
