Andrew Smith Salons gets hairdresser of the year award in London

A HAMPSHIRE MAN has bagged the title of “hairdresser of the year” for the Southern region.

Andrew Smith was announced the winner at the British Hairdressing Awards 2022.

The Gosport man owns Andrew Smith Salons and was chosen for his ‘outstanding expertise’, demonstrated through a photographic collection of hair work.

He was pitted against six other finalists from the region.

On the award, Andrew said: “I really wasn’t expecting this, as the category was so strong and each individual finalist was so different, so it could have gone anyway.

“To win is always amazing.

“British hairdressing is full of passion and creativity, and these awards really push the boundaries of being creative.”

The competition was judged anonymously by over 100 leading hairdressers, including celebrity stylists, session stylists, salon owners, and previous winners.

The awards recognise the outstanding achievements of stylists from England, Wales, and Scotland.
