Firefighters tackling blaze at south London police station

Emergency services are currently trying to put out a fire at an unused police station in south London.

Firefighters and London Ambulance service were called to the blaze in Streatham High Road just before 5pm tonight.

They are currently on the scene tackling the fire.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: ‘Officers were called at 16:52hrs on Tuesday, 20 December to Streatham High Road at the junction with Shrubbery Road.

‘A fire was reported at the old police station. Police, LAS and LFB have attended the scene.

‘Local road closures are in place while emergency services deal with the incident.’
