Rangers now seek permission for Beale in breaking news

Rangers are now actively seeking permission to speak to QPR boss Michael Beale about their vacant managerial role, according to Sky Sports.

Beale is the frontrunner to take over at Ibrox after Giovanni van Bronckhorst met his doomsday after a run of unfortunate results.

Sky Sports confessed the Rangers “breaking news” live on air as they look to speak to Beale in a step up of their efforts to bring the former assistant coach back to Ibrox.

“Starting this hour with breaking news from Glasgow,” the host said via Football Daily on Twitter. “It concerns Rangers.”

Luke Shanley then took over to explain the news: “If you think this vacant Rangers role, who will fill it? Well, we expect Rangers to be looking to seek permission to speak to the Queens Park Rangers boss Michael Beale.”

Here we go.

It was inevitable that Rangers were going to make a move sooner rather than later for Beale and it looks like they are finally pulling the trigger on a move for the QPR boss.

It’s unclear what compensation package the Gers will have to pay the London outfit for Beale’s services but it likely isn’t an issue if they are pressing forward in their attempts to secure him as their new boss.

Beale would have been the name on top of most Light Blues’ fans lists to take over from van Bronckhorst and his exciting brand of football will be welcomed at Ibrox.

Hopefully, he can catapult Rangers’ season into better days and regain some of the form that was shown in the club’s UEFA Europa League efforts last season.

Beale is all but familiar with what is needed to succeed at Ibrox, having been Steven Gerrard’s number two during his reign at the club.

This bodes well for the Englishman coming in and hitting the ground running for Rangers, the club can ill afford any more points being dropped in the Scottish Premiership.

In other Rangers news, sources have revealed a clash between van Bronckhorst and senior players that helped lead to his demise.
