The Revel Puck Circus will be returning to London this winter with Wing Scuffle Spectacular! as part of LIT!, the finale of Lewisham’s year as the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan’s London Borough of Culture 2022.
Bringing a wacky sense of escapism to Beckenham Place Park, from December 15 – January 18, the circus will feature an assortment of specialities from the brightest young talent of the London circus scene including swinging chainsaws and astonishing acrobats.
Stars include Canadian clown and acrobat Ariella Lauzon, aerial straps artist Ilmani Vital, wire-walker Poppy Plowman, a solo Cyr Wheel act performed by Fiona Thornhill and a teeterboard troupe.
Artistic director Luke Hallgarten said: “Winter is our favourite season to put on a show. The spirit, the community atmosphere, and the magic of this time of year.
“We are so excited to welcome audiences to our alternative festive experience, come and be warm and merry with the Revel Pucks.
“Come and drink a glass of mulled wine in our heated bar tent curated by Lewisham artists, before heading into the cosy, and also heated, big top for a spectacular show from the very best of London’s contemporary circus talent.”
For an alternative winter wonderland experience, visitors can enjoy heated spaces, local food vendors with festive treats and live music in the park.
Creative director for The Albany, Vicki Amedume said: “The Wing Scuffle Spectacular offers an alternative festive experience and a fresh perspective on a popular artform, with London communities at its heart.
“We look forward to welcoming audiences to Beckenham Place Park this December.”
Tickets are £17 or £13 for concessions, but 500 £1 tickets will also be available to low-income Lewisham families.
