Crystal Palace winger set to be granted January loan exit – South London News

Crystal Palace are reportedly set to allow Malcolm Ebiowei to leave the club on loan in the January transfer window.

South Londoner Ebiowei joined the Eagles over the summer after his deal with Derby County expired following their relegation to League One.

He featured 16 times last season in the Championship under then Rams boss Wayne Rooney.

The 19-year-old made his Palace debut in the 2-0 opening-day defeat to Arsenal, replacing Eberechi Eze for the final four minutes.

His next appearance in the league came in the 3-0 defeat to Everton after he was handed the final 15 minutes by Palace chief Patrick Vieira.

Ebiowei – who played for Arsenal, Rangers and Chelsea at youth level – also made a substitute appearance in the 2-0 EFL Cup win over Oxford United.

Palace reportedly beat Manchester United, Monaco and Tottenham Hotspur to Ebiowei’s signature.

He has been named on the bench in every Premier League game this season.

The Sun have reported that Palace boss Vieira is willing to let Ebiowei leave on loan to gain regular minutes for the rest of the season.

When asked what Ebiowei needed to do to earn more minutes, Vieira said: “Malcolm is a young player who needs to understand the role and the responsibilities of when you are in the Premier League.

“He is still learning the game. He will get time, but at the moment, it is a little bit frustrating for him because he wants to play, but other players around him are doing well – it makes it a little bit more difficult for him.”
