But Michelle Dockery is having to brave the practical, if not so glamorous, footwear at her West London home, due to the extensive renovations she’s having done.
It might be a welcome change after 12 years in bespoke ballgowns as Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey.

Plans at the £2.5 million pound house are to dig out a basement, create a rear garden extension and a erect a single storey outbuilding.
Michelle’s team will also be putting in a brand new kitchen.
Michelle is understood to be renting a one bedroom flat around the corner amid the work which will cost in the region of £250,000.

The actress, 40, lives at the property with Jasper Waller-Bridge – the brother of Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge and composer Isobel Waller-Bridge.
They have been together since 2019 and announced their engagement in January 2022.
In January the pair made their engagement public with an announcement in The Times.
It read: ‘The engagement is announced between Jasper, son of Michael Waller-Bridge of King’s Lynn, Norfolk, and Teresa Waller-Bridge of Battersea, London, and Michelle Dockery, younger daughter of Michael and Lorraine Dockery of Gidea Park, Essex.’

At the time Jasper’s father told the Daily Mail: ‘We could not be more delighted!
‘We have had a very happy time getting to know Michelle over the last few years and she’s an absolutely delightful person. We couldn’t be happier for them both.
‘Michelle will be a wonderful addition to the family and we are certain that she and Jasper are going to have a very joyful marriage and life together.’
Michelle is thought to have been introduced to Jasper in Los Angeles in 2019 through his sister Phoebe, 36, who created and starred in Fleabag and wrote Killing Eve.
The pair appeared together at the Rome Film Festival in October that year and the romance became public knowledge the following month.
She found love again after her former fiancé, John Dineen, died aged 34 in 2015 due to a rare form of cancer.
