Boy George’s quiet life in desirable London location – where average home is £1.4million

Boy George recently listed his incredible Hampstead mansion for sale for a huge £17million. The Grade-II listed home has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a meditation space, cinema room and private roof terrace. Hampstead, situated in North London, is an extremely desirable location, home to some of the most expensive housing in the London area.

It is thought that the singer has spent the last 40 years living at the home, which underwent several refurbishments through that time.

Properties in Hampstead had an overall average price of £1,431,896 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

The majority of sales in the area during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £967,936.

Terraced properties sold for an average of £1,866,849, with semi-detached homes fetching more than £3,000,000.

It has plenty of independent shops as well as plenty of coffee shops such as Gail’s and Ginger & White.

Residents and visitors can also take advantage of the clothing shops which include Brandy Melville, Maje and Reiss.

It is nestled directly next to Hampstead Heath, an ancient heath spanning over 800 acres which has gorgeous walking opportunities.

The iconic green space has some of the best views over the capital with lots of areas to eat and drink as well as swim.

A popular place in Hampstead Heath is Parliament Hill, with views over London’s main landmarks.

The house, originally known as The Logs, was built in 1868 for engineer and developer Edward Gotto.

It was later lived in by British actor and comedian Marty Feldman, before it became Boy George’s long-term home.

The North London suburb has had a long list of celebrities over the years too including Jamie Oliver, Harry Styles and Ricky Gervais.

Another famous duo who reside in the area are Richard and Judy who have lived in London for more than 20 years.

The home is surrounded by wisteria and ivy, which makes the home cosy and welcoming.

Inside, it has various different natural shades along with metallic and wooden accents.
