Just Stop Oil protestors have thrown chocolate cake over the King Charles waxwork at Madame Tussauds.

Two supporters launched the sweet treat all over the waxworks in London.

It comes just a day after protestors in Germany covered a £96m Monet painting with mashed potato.

Video footage shows the protestors, wearing white t-shirts, as they smear the models with the cake.

The activists are said to have bought tickets to the tourist attraction before vandalising the King and the Princess of Wales.

Eilidh McFadden, 20, from Glasgow, and Tom Johnson, 29, a painter/decorator from Sunderland, were identified by Just Stop Oil, and they said: ‘The science is clear.

‘The demand is simple: just stop new oil and gas. It’s a piece of cake.’

McFadden was among a group of 20 activists who, in May, blocked the entrance to the Nustar Clydebank oil terminal near Glasgow.

They were eventually forcibly removed by police.

It is unclear whether the waxworks – said to cost around £200k to build – have been damaged by the protestors.

Police have said four people have been arrested for criminal damage.

It is the latest in the string of actions being taken by protestors across the country, as last week two protestors blocked the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge in Dartford.

Marcus Carambola, 33, and Morgan Trowland, 39, scaled the huge bridge and after furling a large orange banner they climbed into hammocks suspended around 275ft above the bridge.

The bridge is closed to traffic resulting in long queues on the M25. Protesters from the group, an offshoot of Extinction Rebellion, have blocked roads and bridges in the capital in order to highlight their demand that the government stops new oil and gas projects. Earlier this year Just Stop Oil (JSO) activists threw soup over a priceless painting by Vincent Van Gogh in the National Gallery.

The activists entered the central London gallery on 14 October and hurled a load of foodstuffs at the painting – the Dutch artist’s iconic ‘Sunflowers’ – then glued themselves to the wall in their latest environmental protest.

After chucking the soup at the painting, one of the protesters then asked the gathered crowd: ‘What is worth more, art or life? Is it worth more than food?

‘More than justice?’

There has also been a number of other demonstrations perpetrated by activist groups across Europe.

Yesterday JSO protesters blocked the famous Abbey Road crossing in the same pose as The Beatles as they block traffic in London in their latest climate stunt.

Members of the eco-mob walked onto the pedestrian crossing in north west London at 1pm today as they continue to cause chaos on the roads of the capital.

Video shows four protesters walking onto the crosswalk and performing the pose made famous by The Beatles on the cover of their Abbey Road album.

Just Stop Oil is a number of groups who are committed to pressuring the government into ending new licenses and removing consent for the exploration, production, and development of fossil fuels in the UK.
