Charlie Stayt’s quiet life in London suburb where average house price is £804k

Charlie Stayt has had a successful career with jobs at ITN as well as reporting for LBC and BBC Radio 5 Live. Charlie started his career in commercial radio in Gloucester. He said he was a “late starter as a journalist”, but that his years spent working as a roofer, a roadie and a barman were not wasted. He resides with in west London with his wife Anne, and has two children.

According to reports, the couple reside in Twickenham, a popular town situated on the River Thames, just 10 miles from Charing Cross.

The town attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators every year who visit Twickenham Stadium to watch Rugby.

Twickenham is a highly desirable place to live, with house prices to reflect the demand to live in the riverside area.

According to Rightmove, properties in the town had an overall average price of £804,545.

The majority of sales in Twickenham during the last year were terraced properties, selling for an average price of £813,869.

Flats sold for an average of £493,641, with semi-detached properties fetching £1,037,170.

Overall, sold prices in the town over the last year were up six percent on the previous year and 18 percent up on the 2019 peak of £681,727.

At the time of writing, the most expensive home for sale in the area is on the market for a whopping £5,000,000.

However, there are over 400 homes for sale in the region, with various different types of property available.

There is lots to do in Twickenham with a busy high-street home to both independent and well-known stores.

Visitors and residents alike can also enjoy various restaurants and bars as well as the pubs on the riverside.

Just down the road from the town is Bushy Park, surrounded by the towns of Teddington, Hampton and Hampton Hill.

It is the second largest of London’s Royal Parks, at 445 hectares in area. Richmond Park is the largest, which is also not far away from Twickenham.

Richmond is another exclusive area of south-west London, with the average home selling for £1,121,818.

There are also several schools in Twickenham, as well as colleges and St Mary’s University.

The town also has great transport links into central London as well as out of the city, and is located in Zone 5 on the tube map.

Co-host Naga Munchetty also resides in west London, in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire.

Properties in the town of Rickmansworth don’t come cheap, with homes selling for an overall average price of £722,972 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

The majority of sales in Rickmansworth during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £1,189,588.

Flats sold for an average of £391,762, with semi-detached properties fetching £643,231.
