AFC Wimbledon boss has injury update on sidelined quartet – South London News

AFC Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson has provided an update on Paris Maghoma, George Marsh, Alex Pearce and Paul Osew ahead of Saturday’s home game against League Two rivals Sutton United.

Jackson was without midfielders Maghoma and Marsh for the trip to take on Walsall last weekend. The Dons suffered a 3-1 defeat at the Bescot Stadium, with Jackson forced to name defender Ryler Towler in the midfield.

Maghoma, 21, on a season-long loan from Brentford, has started every game he has been available for selection for this season under the former Charlton and Tottenham midfielder.

Former Leyton Orient midfielder Marsh, 23, had featured in all 11 League Two games before missing out last weekend.

“Paris had an issue with his hamstring, and Marshy went over on his ankle in the back end of the week,” Jackson told the South London Press. “Both were too sore to be involved. That was a blow losing two midfield players, as we had to rejig it a little bit. Hopefully, both will be available.”

Former Millwall captain Alex Pearce has missed the previous three outings for the Dons after he was forced off in the seventh minute with a groin injury during the 2-2 draw with Bradford City.

Versatile full-back Paul Osew was also forced to come off during the 3-2 EFL Trophy win against Crawley Town after 24 minutes with an ankle injury.

“Pearcy is back in full training. We’re hopeful that we will have him available,” added Jackson. “Paul Osew is still a way off. He’s not long come out of the boot, so we’re still looking at an extended period out for Paul.

“It seemed innocuous. He tried to play on at the time, but he had to come off in the EFL Trophy game. When we had it scanned, it was worse than first feared.”

Goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen is also set for a spell on the sidelines after he signed a contract extension with the Dons until the January transfer window.
