Watford doctor completes London Marathon in memory of grandad

A doctor from Watford competed the London Marathon in memory of her grandfather who died with cardiac disease complications.

Nina Cooper, 29, said her grandfather suffered three heart attacks, had multiple stents fitted and was living with heart failure in the years leading up to his death.

The doctor has also seen the impact of heart disease in her line of work at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

She was among hundreds of British Heart Foundation runners taking part in the marathon on Sunday (October 2) to raise funds for the charity’s lifesaving research.
