ncoming Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell has already explained why he will work well with the club’s new ownership.
Standard Sport understands Vivell has agreed to become Petr Cech’s successor, bringing an end to Toddy Boehly’s search to fill the role.
Chelsea are keen to hire both a technical director and a new sporting director after Boehly oversaw the latter position during the summer transfer window.
The American businessman has previously spoken of his desire to build a long-term project in west London, and the appointment of manager Graham Potter was a key step.

And Vivell’s past comments suggest he is on the same wavelength as his new boss.
Speaking on the ‘Kicker meets DAZN’ podcast last month, Vivell was explaining the importance of having a head coach in place for the long term.
Discussing the appointment of Marco Rose at RB Leipzig, Vivell said: “The best thing is always when a club works with a coach for a long time.
“You can see that in teams that are at the top of the Bundesliga like Union Berlin.
“That’s what we want again.”
