Crystal Palace get injury selection boost for Leeds United – South London News

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira’s first-team selection options have been handed an injury boost ahead of Sunday’s clash against Leeds United.

Centre-back Joachim Andersen missed last weekend’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea but the French manager confirmed he had taken part in training in the build-up to Sunday.

“It is going to be a challenging game,” said Vieira. “We know how good they can be and how well they can play.

“We are at home – I am quite pleased with the way we have been playing, even if we didn’t get the result we deserved.

“We have been playing some good football, but it is important for us to improve some parts which will allow us to win football matches.

“We are where we are because we didn’t win enough matches. That is looking at the points. But if you look at what we are producing football wise it gives us hope we will win those games.

“We have to be more clinical, to focus more on those details to win matches. We have more chance of winning games by playing the way we do than anything else.

“Every game will have its challenges, the first couple of games we played we are against teams I believe will be finishing in the top half of the table but overall it’s not about the result I’m looking at – it’s about the way we played and what we deliver under those circumstances.

“Every game we played we competed well and that is not going to change. We want to compete, we want to play well, win games, regardless of who we play. The challenges will be different from one team to the other but it will still be a tough game because winning Premier League games is not easy.”
