Richmond Council hosted a number of events to support a national Clean and Green Week to tackle climate change.
Habitats and Heritage worked with Richmond Council to create a weeks worth of events from 24 September to 2 October.
The South West London charity aims to show the community how protecting the environment can be fun and convenient through activities.
Chief executive of Habitats and Heritage Colin Cooper said: “It is important to clean up litter, especially close to rivers where it could end up in the sea.”

Every year the climate coalition hosts The Great Big Green Week to protect the environment and learn about climate change.
Cooper added that Habitats and Heritage offer a service where members of the public in Richmond can borrow equipment to carry out their own litter picks.
At the start of national Clean and Green Week, Richmond upon Thames Libraries contributed to The Great Big Green Week to read stories to children about sustainable living and protecting our environment.
Over the weekend, Habitats and Heritage will be hosting a Habitat restoration session, a paddle board little pick, Bushy Park bingo and a good gym run.
