Lisburn’s OKTO lands new contracts worth £20m in London

LISBURN-based OKTO Technologies has been awarded contracts worth £20 million to develop its ‘smart building’ tech for hospitality, residential and commercial office projects in London.

The contracts include the roll out of OKTO’s innovative building operating and service system (BOSS).

Developed by OKTO’s team of research and development (R&D) engineers in Lisburn, the artificial intelligence-led platform combines the background control of complex building systems (security, lighting, AV and energy management) with an advanced ‘concierge’ level service.

The contracts have been secured from significant property developers including Sir Robert McAlpine. The work includes two new five-star hotel properties in central London as well as an exclusive new-build fully serviced office.

The deal come on the back of OKTO’s recent plans to expand its workforce by a further 80 people, taking its total headcount to almost 200.

“This is another significant milestone for our business,” said owner Philip Dowds.

“It’s a clear indication that we’re fully embedded within the super-prime, luxury market and there is a high level of trust in our technologies and our team. It also proves that we are market leaders in the development of ground-breaking concepts which radically enhance the way people live, work and relax.”
