Creepy ITV News funeral clip goes viral

In the short 21 second video, ITV News zooms into the state hearse which is transporting the Queen’s coffin from above.

“As you can see here in London it is a lovely day as the hearse heads out into West London,” a male newsreader says.

The clip was filmed just after the Queen’s procession, which ended at Wellington Arch, and sees Her Majesty being taken to Windsor to be laid to rest.

At the start of the video, an ominous voice can be heard whispering “the death is irreversible,” in a really creepy tone.

The female voice continues to say “and the fact that,” but she trails off and it’s difficult to hear what she says next before everything goes silent.

‘The death is irreversible’ freaks out Twitter

The scary voice clip has gone viral on Twitter where lots of people are freaked out.

Many are speculating the next word was ‘trapped’, with one person writing: “Ok, this gave me chills hearing this. I heard, ‘The death is irreversible and the fact is she’s trapped’.”

“Well, that “the death is irreversible and the fact that she’s trapped” audio is terrifying,” said another.

A third person added: “I’m still wondering what this was about. Very creepy: ‘her death is irreversible and she’s trapped’.”

Others think the voice sounds like Princess Diana and are saying it’s her ghost.

One person tweeted: “What was just whispered on ITV just then? ‘The death is irreversible the fact that she’s travelling…’ It is Diana’s voice.”

“Mysterious ghost of Diana haunts Queen’s funeral on ITV,” said another.

A third person added: “Sounds like Diana saying ‘The death is irreversible and the fact that she’s trapped’.”

We need answers

At the time of writing this, it’s not clear what happened in the clip and ITV News hasn’t responded to the confusion.

The logical answer is that one of the news reporter whispered something in the background, not realising that her microphone was on.

She was probably talking about how much of a tragedy it is that Queen Elizabeth had passed away and said her death is sadly “irreversible”.

The audio has clearly been taken out of context, and it seems more likely that the reporter actually said the world “travelling” rather than “trapped”.

HITC has reached out to ITV for comment.
