£30m star ‘will move soon’ amid Emirates interest

Arsenal have been boosted in their pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk as he is set to move onto pastures new, amid Emirates Stadium interest, within the next year, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Gunners may have spent close to £120million on bolstering Mikel Arteta’s squad during the summer window, but they will have the opportunity to draft in further reinforcements in January.

What’s the latest news involving Mudryk?

Mudryk played a key role when Shakhtar got their Champions League campaign off to a winning start earlier this week as he grabbed a goal and two assists against RB Leipzig.

Following his impressive performance, the winger admitted he dreams of playing in the Premier League and hinted that a move to Arsenal could be on the cards by stating he ‘can’t say no’ to a winter switch to north London.

The Gunners could reportedly reignite their interest in Mudryk ahead of the transfer window reopening at the turn of the year.

It is understood that Arsenal explored the possibility of being able to strike a deal for the 21-year-old last month, with the Gunners choosing to hold discussions with the winger’s representatives instead of Shakhtar, but a switch failed to come to fruition.

Carlo Nicolini, the assistant sporting director at Mudryk’s current employers, has revealed it would take a bid worth more than £30million to prise him away.

What has Dean Jones said about Mudryk?

Jones believes Mudryk’s performance as Shakhtar overcame Leipzig showed that he has plenty of quality and, as a result, he will have gained even more interest.

The journalist is certain that the Ukrainian will be on the move within the next 12 months and has refused to rule out the possibility of a winter switch.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “He put on a super show that’s caught the attention of pretty much anyone that was watching that.

“There’s no way, I see, that he won’t move clubs in the next year.”

Would Mudryk be a good signing for Arsenal?

It is understood that Arsenal received glowing reports about Mudryk’s talent and temperament when they looked into the possibility of signing him during the summer window, but injuries within the Gunners’ squad put a move on the back-burner.

He has earned comparisons to Paris Saint-Germain attackers Neymar and Lionel Messi during the early stages of his career, which shows he is bursting with talent.

However, Arsenal are expected to face competition for Mudryk’s services as he was reportedly a target for several Premier League clubs ahead of last week’s transfer deadline.

Everton made a verbal proposal worth £25.7million for the five-cap Ukraine international, but Shakhtar turned the Merseyside outfit’s offer down.
