London Green Champions: Nanak’s contribution

After completing 12-weeks on the London Green Champions project, Nanak, shares what he believes has been the best part of the project.

London Green Champions aims to empower young people across the capital to use multi-media platforms to voice their opinion whilst exploring and taking action in their local green spaces.

Nanak describes his experience on the project positively and has particularly enjoyed visiting local parks and green spaces within East-London.

As a London Green Champion, Nanak, has been part of our ELATT Yard Project. Alongside his peers, he has created long-term change in his community by helping to develop a new, youth-led green space outside of his college in Hackney. The green space involves the erection of several planters, which he believes will help inspire others to get involved and ‘cool down’ their mental health. The plants also serve as a wildlife habit to encourage more biodiversity such as bees in the area, a massive help towards supporting nature in the city.

Thank you for your contribution Nanak.

We are grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund and The Jack Petchey Ignite Fund for making these opportunities possible.
