Children’s TV star Kate Copstick beaten up in the street for £8,500 | Scotland

A comedy critic and former children’s TV star was attacked and mugged by masked thieves while walking home in west London.

Kate Copstick, 66, a familiar figure at the Edinburgh Fringe who featured in the BBC and ITV shows Play School, ChuckleVision and No 73 in the 1980s, was set upon after closing her charity shop in the Shepherd’s Bush area on Saturday. She said that £8,500 in cash was taken from her.
