Former Chelsea and Arsenal winger Willian has completed his medical ahead of a move back to London to join Fulham.

The Brazilian winger was recently on the books of Corinthians in his homeland but recently came to an agreement to part ways with the club. The veteran brings a wealth of experience to the Cottagers, having played in the Champions League with Fulham’s rivals Chelsea.

During his seven years, Willian won two Premier League titles, a Europa League, an FA Cup and a League Cup. The 34-year-old made 339 appearances for the Blues, scoring 63 goals and providing 62 assists.

He then joined Chelsea’s rivals Arsenal in 2020, only managing a season in North London as he struggled to make an impact. In 37 appearances for the Gunners, he scored just once but did manage to register seven assists.

This resulted in him returning to Corinthinians, where he started his career. Since leaving the club earlier this summer following online abuse he received from fans during the last few months of the season, Willian has been training with the Cottagers in the hopes to seal a return back to the Premier League.

He is set to become Marco Silva’s eighth signing of the summer behind Shane Duffy, Manor Solomon, Bernd Leno, Kevin Mbabu, Andreas Pereira, Issa Diop and Joao Palhinha.
