South London GCSE results 2022: Pictures from day

South London students are receiving GCSE results today. having sat exams for the first time in two years due to the pandemic.

In England, traditional A* to G grades were replaced in recent years with a 9 to 1 system, with 9 being the highest mark.

In general, a grade 7-9 is roughly equivalent to A-A*, while a grade 4 and above is roughly equivalent to a C and above.

Top grades for GCSEs are down on last year – but remain higher than pre-pandemic levels, as UK students receive their results.

The percentage of GCSE entries awarded the top grades (7/A or above) in London was 32.6%.

In 2021 it was 34.5 per cent and in 2019 25.7 per cent.

Here are some of our favourite pictures of south London students celebrating their results.
