Inside Scott Mills’ house as he leaves Radio 1 after 24 years

SCOTT Mills waved an emotional goodbye to his award winning Radio 1 show today – sobbing through his final hours on air.

The wealthy radio star, who has bagged a huge opportunity over on Radio 2, has made strides in his personal life too after getting engaged last year and moving home in 2020.

He left his North London semi-detached town house two years ago after giving Keith Lemon and Through The Keyhole viewers a glimpse into the palatial bachelor’s pad in 2019.

In a clip from the show Scott revealed the Victorian property boasted a staircase that was laid with a red carpet.

Downstairs was a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with a large radio system, an enormous corner sofa and a bay window that provided plenty of light.

Scott has not one but two televisions fastened onto a grey wall, as well as a mirror, while a giant wine glass suggestted Scott was “a lot of fun,” according to Keith Lemon.

Scott’s London home also had a cinema room which he painted purple and where he watched movies on a large projector screen, with a popcorn machine in reach.

He has now swapped life in central London for a place in the suburbs which comes with the benefit of a space.

His new detached home boasts a huge garden, a large driveaway and a stunning living room and sofas.

Photos on his Instagram page reveal his pet poodle Teddy has the run of the house.

Scott today struggled to hold back tears as he signed off his final BBC Radio 1 show after 24 years telling listeners to “turn on the radio” if they ever feel alone.

The DJ, who hosted his daytime show with co-presenter Chris Stark, chose One Direction’s Night Changes as the final track to end his emotional final show on Thursday ending with the words: “Love you, bye.”

Scott has hosted various shows on the radio station since 1998, including The Official Chart Show on a Friday since 2018.

He is moving to BBC Radio 2 where he will take over the 2pm-4pm slot, held by presenter Steve Wright since 1999.

Wright announced he would be stepping down from his afternoon show at the end of September after 23 years as part of the station’s schedule shake-up.
