Man fined for refusing to hand over Bradford to King’s Cross ticket

A MAN has been fined for refusing to hand over a ticket after a train journey between Bradford and London.

Jason White, 41, of Sunbridge Road, Bradford, faced one charge of failing/refusing to hand over a valid ticket not in a designated compulsory ticket area – railway byelaw.

On October 12, 2020, between Bradford Interchange and King’s Cross, London, White failed to hand over his ticket for inspection and verification of validity when asked to do so by an authorised person.

White was fined £220 and ordered to pay £136.50 compensation, £150 costs and a £34 victim surcharge for this offence. A collection order was made.

The case was proved in his absence and he was sentenced at South Yorkshire Magistrates’ Court on August 18, 2022.
