West Ham will make ‘at least two more signings’ at London Stadium

West Ham could make at least two more signings before the transfer window closes, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The east London club are having trouble landing Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri, but Jones is still expecting them to do a couple more deals while the market remains open.

What is the latest transfer news involving West Ham?

The Sun recently broke the story that Emerson’s proposed move from Chelsea to West Ham had collapsed.

According to the newspaper, the 28-year-old’s wage demands were too high, resulting in the Hammers walking away. Since then, though, it has emerged that they are now trying to resurrect a deal.

David Moyes has at least been able to add Thilo Kehrer to his defence, with his arrival at the London Stadium coming at the perfect time.

West Ham are currently light in that area of the pitch after watching new signing Nayef Aguerd pick up an injury and Issa Diop depart to Fulham.

What has Jones said about West Ham’s plans for the remainder of the transfer window?

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that West Ham were disappointed when the deal for Emerson initially collapsed.

Whatever happens, the journalist says more business will still be done before September’s deadline. Speaking to GMS, he said: “I think they were disappointed. I don’t think they saw there being too much problem with it and they’ve just been a bit surprised by the numbers involved.

“But, as I’m told, at least two more deals are going to happen at West Ham before the end of the window.”

Who could West Ham sign?

With the Evening Standard claiming talks have now resumed, you would not completely rule out West Ham eventually signing Emerson.

The Sun’s report always said there was a “slim chance” that they would return for him, while it really would not be a surprise if Emerson did have a change of heart and decided to lower his wage demands.

The Italy international will surely know that he is not going to play at Chelsea this season, with Thomas Tuchel having both Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell to call upon. Marcos Alonso has also not left the west London club yet.

Further forward, there has been talk about West Ham being interested in attacking midfielder Hans Vanaken, so he is someone else who could come in before the transfer window closes. As per 90min, the Hammers are currently working on a deal to sign the Club Brugge man.
