Woman in her 30s raped in street by stranger in North London as police release CCTV of wanted man

A WOMAN in her 30s was raped in a horror attack by a stranger on a North London street in the early hours of the morning.

The rapist is still at large and police have today released details, including CCTV photos of a man they would like to speak to about the attack.

The woman had been walking in Haringey when she was approached by an unknown man.

The pair walked together for a period of time, before the man raped her.

The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday, June 25, and the woman was raped on Houghton Rd, Haringey.

The man took off in the direction of West Green Road.

The crime was reported to police just after 7am by a third party, and officers quickly spoke to the woman.

Detective Constable Daniella Biggins, the investigating officer from the North Area’s Safeguarding Team, said: “This was a traumatic ordeal for the victim and we are doing everything we can do support her and bring the perpetrator to justice.

“We are very keen to speak to the man in the CCTV images we have released and we would ask anyone who can identify him to come forward. We believe he can help us with our enquiries into this offence and we wish to speak to him as a matter of urgency.”
