Max Beesley has been seen on set for the first time filming Apple TV+’s upcoming thriller Hijack.

The actor, 51, cut a pensive figure as he recorded the outdoor scenes in north London for the seven-part series, striding down the street before jumping into a waiting car.

Max will star in the series alongside Idris Elba, who is set to play accomplished business negotiator Sam Nelson, with the project the first to emerge from his first-look deal with Apple.

The drama – written by George Kay – will be produced by 60Forty Films and Field Smith and Kay’s Idiotlamp Productions in association with Green Door.

It comes following reports that Idris has walked away from ‘years of talks’ with movie bosses to take over the role of James Bond, according to reports.

The star, 49, was the bookies’ favourite to replace Daniel Craig as the super spy, but is keen to pursue other roles – and has even put forward a list of proposed names to producer Barbara Broccoli of actors to play 007.

A source told The Sun: ‘Fans and Barbara wanted Idris but he wants to create something for himself.

‘However, he’s put forward names to play 007. He’s ‘informally’ in the decision-making process as he’s been in talks with producers for so long.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Idris and James Bond producers for comment.
