Tottenham: Conte ‘banishes Ndombele, Lo Celso, Reguilon and Winks from training

Antonio Conte ‘BANISHES Spurs outcasts Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks from first-team training and forces them to train on their own’ as they try to offload the quartet before the end of the window

  • Ndombele, Lo Celso, Reguilon and Winks have been exiled from Spurs training
  • They were banned from training following their pre-season tour of South Korea
  • Tottenham said the head coach could only work with a certain number of players
  • Antonio Conte is hoping the quartet will leave the club before September 1

Tottenham outcasts Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks have been excluded from the first team and told they must train on their own.

The four Tottenham flops were banished from squad training sessions after Antonio Conte’s side returned to north London following their pre-season tour of South Korea.

According to The Evening Standard, Tottenham told the unwanted quartet that they made the decision because the head coach could only work with a certain number of players.

Conte and the Tottenham hierarchy are eager to get Ndombele, Lo Celso, Reguilon and Winks off their books before the transfer window closes on September 1.

In the meantime, the quartet will continue to train on their own as they wait to hear from any potential deals.

Ndombele moved to north London in a club-record £65m deal from Lyon in the summer of 2019. However, he failed to cement a regular spot in the starting XI.

The 25-year-old has also fallen further down the pecking order following the signing of Yves Bissouma, along with January purchase Rodrigo Bentancur.

Therefore, Ndombele – who has failed to impressed four Tottenham managers during his time at the club – has been offered to Newcastle by his team of representatives.

However, Eddie Howe is reluctant to sign Ndombele as he is not convinced over his quality – according to The Evening Standard.

Meanwhile, Ndombele has hinted he would like to stay at Spurs as he thinks it would be ‘possible’ to be happy at Tottenham.

‘Yes, I think it’s possible to be happy at Tottenham,’ he told Media Carre, ‘Regardless of where you can go, you can be happy or unhappy.

‘We’ll see how things go during pre-season. I’m not putting any more pressure on myself than that.’

Reflecting on what may lie ahead for him, he went on to add: ‘What I want is to be happy, take pleasure in what I do, play, win, that’s all I want.’

Lo Celso has also been excluded from Tottenham’s first team training sessions after failing to cement his place in the team during their pre-season campaign.

Lo Celso returned to north London this summer after Antonio Conte sent him out on to Lyon during the 2021-2022 campaign.

The French side – who secured his services for a fee of £1.25m – had the option of buying Lo Celso permanently for £54m but decided against it.

Winks and Reguilon also been cast out of the first team training squad despite feature under Conte last season.

The Italian manager has no plans to play either player next season following the signing of Bissouma and Ivan Perisic.

The arrival of Bissouma displaces midfielder Winks and Perisic does the same to Reguilon at left wing-back.
