Blackpool international striker is on Millwall radar – South London News

By Dan Marsh

Millwall are interested in Blackpool striker Shayne Lavery.

Reports on Tuesday morning outlined that the Lions were in ‘advanced talks’ over a deal for the Northern Ireland international.

Those claims are wide of the mark – but Gary Rowett’s side do hold an interest in the 23-year-old forward.

Lavery netted 10 goals for Blackpool last summer – including goals in both league matches against Millwall – after joining the Seasiders from Linfield.

The versatile forward, who has won 15 caps for Northern Ireland, has started both of Blackpool’s Championship games so far this term on the bench.

It’s been well-documented that Millwall are still in the market for attacking reinforcements.

The Lions have already signed Benik Afobe on a permanent basis and captured Zian Flemming in a club-record £1.7m deal, but they did lose the services of Jed Wallace earlier this summer after he left SE16 to join Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion.
