Premier League announce October’s TV picks with the first north London derby of the season to be shown on BT on October 1 with Sky broadcasting Man City and Liverpool’s clash on October 16

  • Prime Video have landed several big fixtures including Arsenal v City (Oct 20)  

The Premier League have announced the broadcast picks for October, with Arsenal v Tottenham kicking off the month in a mouth-watering clash on BT. 

The first north London derby of the season will kick off on Saturday October 1 at 12.30pm, and Sky Sports customers will get the first chance to see title favourites Liverpool and Manchester City face off on Sunday, October 16 from 4.30pm. 

Sky Sports viewers will be far more satisfied than those who with a BT subscription however, with Sky televising 18 matches across the month, with BT only showing five, although several fixtures are yet to be allocated. 

SkySports will kick off October with live coverage of the first north London derby of the season

October gets off to an electric start, with the Manchester derby coming just a day after Arsenal v Spurs, and will be shown on Sky Sports at either 2.30 or 4.30, in what promises to be a pulsating weekend. 

Over the course of October, Sky will also be televising Arsenal v Liverpool on October 9, Spurs v Newcastle on October 22 and another heavyweight clash between Manchester United and Chelsea on Sunday, October 23. 

The broadcasting giants then close out the month with coverage of newly-promoted Fulham against Everton on Saturday, October 29, followed by a double bill of Liverpool v Leeds (2.30pm) and Man United v West Ham (4.30pm) on October 30.

After the north London derby at the Emirates, BT’s next game will be on Sunday, October 9 when Manchester United travel to Everton at 7pm. 

They will also have coverage of the 12.30 kick off on Saturday, October when the Foxes host Crystal Palace, before showing big-spenders Nottingham Forest take on Liverpool on Saturday, October 22, also at 12.3.0pm.

Their final games of the month sees Leicester host Pep Guardiola’s City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, October 29 at 12.30pm

Amazon Prime may be newer to the TV schedule lists than their more established counterparts, but they have still picked up some of the biggest fixtures of the month. 

The first match available on the streaming platform is not until Tuesday, October 18, but they will be showing three games in one evening, starting with Brighton v Forest and Palace v Wolves (both 7.30), before Bournemouth host Southampton at 8.15pm. 

They will then show United v Spurs at Old Trafford a day later at 8.15, followed by a bumper Thursday, October 20 starting with Brentford taking on Chelsea in a west London derby, Fulham hosting Aston Villa, and Leeds travelling to Leicester, all kicking off at 7.30pm, and culminating with Arsenal v Man City at 8.15pm.
