Renewed appeal over fatal shooting of young man two years ago – South London News

Police investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Sutton have launched a fresh appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Kyle Kelson, who would have turned 28 today, was 25 when he was shot and killed in Brocks Drive, North Cheam just after 1.10am on Friday, June 19, 2020.

Detective Chief Inspector Nigel Penney, leading the investigation, said: “The pain of losing someone in such an unexpected and violent manner will never completely go away but events such as birthdays only magnifies this pain for Kyle’s family.

“My team of detectives is working tirelessly to build a case to hold whoever is responsible for Kyle’s murder to account but we need your help.

“Did you witness the moment that the fatal shot was fired? Can you help us establish exactly what happened as Kyle was shot?

“I want to reassure anyone who has information but may be reluctant to come forward, that my team will treat any contact in the strictest of confidence.

“However, I do understand some people may be uncomfortable speaking directly to police. You can provide information completely anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers. They will never ask for your details and you will remain 100 per cent anonymous.”

Anyone with information that could help is asked to call the incident room on 020 8721 4622. To speak to Crimestoppers, please dial 0800 555 111 or visit https://crimestoppers-uk.org/.
