Charlton Athletic midfielder could make exit in this transfer window – South London News

Jake Forster-Caskey could be set to leave Charlton Athletic this summer.

The South London Press understands that there is interest in the 28-year-old midfielder.

Forster-Caskey is facing a battle for game time at the League One club.

The Addicks have plenty of options in the middle of the park and also signed Conor McGrandles once his Lincoln City contract expired at the start of July.

Charlton took up a 12-month contract extension on Forster-Caskey in May. He is not being made available for transfer but is being given the opportunity to explore that interest from other clubs as there is no guarantee of regular football in SE7.

The former England U21 international was voted the club’s Player of the Year in the 2020-21 season but suffered the second ACL injury of his career in the penultimate match.

Forster-Caskey made his first-team return in April at home against Lincoln City, the same opposition when he seriously damaged his knee at The Valley, and featured another three times before the end of the month.

It is not guaranteed the former Brighton, Rotherham and Milton Keynes player will be moving on but that could be the case if a move suits all parties.
