A hospital has added new facilities after a £5million boost to help it manage critical care demand.
King George Hospital Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) has increased its size from eight to 12 beds, installed new ventilators, as well as adding a dedicated relative’s room, and a central staff station at the heart of the ITU.
Local politicians toured the new facilities.
Ilford South MP Sam Tarry said: “It’s so uplifting that for the third time in less than a year, I’ve visited King George Hospital to see new facilities.
“The investment not only boosts and benefits residents but also staff.”
Redbridge Council leader Councillor Jas Athwal said: “The ITU is one of those facilities that you hope you never have to use but you’re always thankful it’s there.”
