ondon’s latest Covid hospots have been revealed as new figures also show around one in 25 people in England had Covid last week.
Some 2.7 million people across the UK are estimated to have had Covid last week, up 18% from 2.3 million the previous week, according to new data from the Office for National Statistics.
This is the highest estimate since late April but it is still below the record high of 4.9 million at the end of March.
Fresh figures also reveal for the week ending July 1, there were eighteen Covid hotspot areas in London with a weekly case rate higher than 400 per 100,000.
The highest rates of cases in the capital in that week were found in East Putney which had a case rate of 510 per 100,000, according to the ONS data.

Hayes North in Bromley closely followed as it had a case rate of 482.7.
Brondesbury Park in Brent had a rate of 472.6, the area of Woodcote in Croydon had a rate of 461.6, and the area of Pinner South in Harrow had a rate of 459.4.

Several areas in east London had noticeably lower case rates, with the lowest case rates all to be found in the east and north east of the capital for the week.
Loxford Park, in Redbridge, had a case rate of just 38.2 per 100,000, Shadwell North in Tower Hamlets just 38.7 per 100,000 and Ilford North in Redbridge having a rate of 43.2 per 100,000.
The data is split into smaller areas called Middle layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs) and their names may not precisely align with those commonly used when describing our own neighbourhoods.
The case rates are calculated by dividing the seven day total by the area population and multiplying by 100,000 to make it easier to compare across areas.
London overall had 20,058 Covid cases in the past week, according to the latest data, and a case rate of 222.8 per 100,000.
Meanwhile the latest data also showed the number of people in hospital in England who have tested positive for Covid-19 stood at 11,878 on July 7, up 33% week-on-week.
Those with Covid symptoms serious enough to require mechanical ventilator beds stood at 232 on July 7, up 10% week-on-week and the highest number for two months.
However it still remained far below previous pandemic peaks, thanks to the success of the vaccine rollout.
