Manor Park fire: 100 firefighters called to east London flats

Around 100 firefighters are tackling a fire in a tower block in east London.

Emergency services were called to the block of flats in Grantham Road, Manor Park, just after 2.45pm today (June 21).

The London Fire Brigade says two flats on the 13th and 14th floors are on fire.

Around 60 people escaped from the building before firefighters arrived.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time.

There are 15 fire engines and around 100 firefighters in attendance after the fire brigade received more than 50 calls

Crews from Ilford, Stratford, Leytonstone, Plaistow, Dagenham and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
