Stalker sneaked into home of barrister and demanded cash | News

A prominent QC was stalked by a former girlfriend who sneaked into his home and demanded cash while family members cowered in their bedrooms.

A court was told that shortly after Charles Béar ended his relationship with Helen Faure during a summer holiday, she developed an “extremely unhealthy obsession” and began stalking him.

Faure, 52, was issued with a restraining order yesterday during a hearing at Highbury Corner magistrates’ court in north London.

Faure sent Béar, 59, a barrage of offensive emails that included derogatory remarks about him and his family, the court was told.

She was said to have repeatedly waited outside Béar’s home and chambers between September and October last year.
