Lauren Bruton extends Charlton Athletic contract – South London News

Charlton Athletic have triggered an option to extend the contract of club captain Lauren Bruton.

The midfielder, 29, signed for the Addicks at the start of the 2021-22 FA Women’s Championship season after ending an eight-year spell at Reading.

Bruton said: “I am delighted to have extended my contract with Charlton. I had a tough first year here with injuries but I’m really looking forward to helping the team progress and achieve more than last year.

“It’s going to be a big year for the club and I’m excited to get started.”

Head coach Karen Hills said: “As club captain Lauren has grown into the role and has led by example, I’m super excited to see her continue to help the team on and off the pitch going into the new season.

“Lauren will be a player to watch this season as I believe she will show her true potential.”

The Addicks are gearing up for their second season as a full-time professional outfit. Bruton was appointed as skipper in August.
