Stratford live: Updates as London Underground and Network Rail station evacuated over fire alert causing delays

A London Underground station in East London has been evacuated due to a fire alert. Stratford station is closed this afternoon (Friday, June 10) after alarms sounded at around 2pm.

Greater Anglia services are now not running, with Jubilee line services also affected with delays. It’s not known when the station will reopen. A picture from the scene shows at least one fire engine parked outside.

Greater Anglia said: “Due to the fire alarm sounding at a station at Stratford train services running through this station may be revised. Disruption is expected until further notice. Currently no services will be stopping at Stratford whilst the station is evacuated.”

The London Fire Brigade said: “Crews investigated and there was no fire. We were called at 1406 and incident over by 1423.”
