Police hunt for man who threatened Croydon shop assistant with gun in robbery

A man who robbed a bookmakers in South London last year was able to make off with a wad of cash and left one shop assistant in a state of shock. Detectives have now released images of the man in the hope that he can be identified. One of the pictures show him pointing a gun over the desk of the Croydon betting shop, threatening the shop worker.

The armed robbery happened on October 31 2021, at around 4pm when the man entered the bookmakers and demanded money. He made off with cash and left one staff member needing treatment from the London Ambulance service for shock.

The man was wearing sunglasses to disguise his identity

The man is described as a Black male, aged 35 to 40 with short dark hair and slightly balding. Three pictures have been released of the man, one from behind, in front, and also another one of him appearing to brandish a pistol.

Police have asked members of the public whether they can name the man that appears in the photos. He is disguised behind a pair of sunglasses and a bomber jacket.
