Catford Wanderers ladies first team were comfortable 3.5-0.5 winners over Hartley Country Club in their North Kent League Second Division fixture, writes Denis Costelloe.
Wanderers first pair of Julia Garling and Stephanie James were too good Louise Mansfield and Janet Byard, winning 6-2 6-2, and went on to an even easier 6-0 6-0 success over Helen Mansfield and Janet Cleaver.
Catford’s second pair of Kathy Aldridge and Lilla Brown had no difficulty with Mansfield and Cleaver as they posted a 6-0 6-2 win.
They found the second match against Mansfield and Byard a more difficult prospect and lost the first set 6-4 but fought back to take the second set 6-3 to halve the match.
